Nova-111, a new real-time and turn-based game, will launch this August on Steam, PS4, PS3, PS Vita and Xbox One, and a little later on Wii U, developer Funktronic Labs and Curve Digital have announced.

The game is the creation of former Q-Games devs Eddie Lee and Kalin, whose previous work included the PixelJunk series.

Nova-111 is a sci-fi themed adventure that lets you utilise both real-time decisions and turn-based strategy to fight enemies and solve puzzles. Players must pilot an orange vessel through mysterious and foreign planets, solving puzzles and engaging in strategic battles with bizarre astrobiological creatures.

Co-founder of Funktronic Labs, Eddie Lee commented: “With Nova-111, we really wanted to create a fresh spin on the turn-based strategy genre and we have been completely blown away by the support and reception that we have received so far.  We can’t wait to see what players think of our game.”

Funktronic is creating the Steam version, with Curve Digital handling the port to consoles.

Nova-111 will launch August 25 on Steam, PS4, PS3 and Vita, August 28 on Xbox One, and shortly after on Wii U.
