Hello Games has announced another new update for space exploration game No Man’s Sky entitled Interceptor, and it’s out today.

With this update comes even more new features for the now seven year old game, further expanding its longevity for those who’ve stuck with it and new fans alike. Key here then is the addition of a Corruption, which has begun spreading across the galaxy and introducing some new gameplay mechanics.

These include Corrupted Worlds where crystals have sprung up and twisted the Guardians into bizarre new forms – you can explore these planets, which also have their own corrupted buildings and equipment (plus crashed spaceships from unfortunate explorers) to discover.

There’s also a brand new ship type – Interceptor – which is of course the namesake of the update; and they’re arriving alongside new ships piloted by Sentinels. Luckily for you, they’ve got plenty of goodies for you to plunder should you take them down – or even add them to your own fleet.

The update comes just a few weeks removed from the No Man’s Sky Fractal update which released just this past February and added PSVR 2 support to the game. That’s been improved and expanded upon here, with some further engine improvements to that and the Xbox version of the game too.

New enemy types, new custom wonders and plenty more can be found in this new update too – with a massive laundry list of changes that you can read about on the No Man’s Sky full update blog.

No Man’s Sky Interceptor is available from today for the game across all its formats – Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. Better yet? It’s free for all existing players.
