Ninty has followed up on Microsoft’s revelation that Switch was the best-selling video games console in the US last month, confirming it shifted 1.5 million hardware units during December 2017. Total figures for Switch currently sit at more than 4.8 million; not too shabby considering it only launched 10 months ago.

In addition, the Big N also confirmed that the 3DS posted its best sales for December since 2014, with the handheld’s various incarnations moving over 750,000 units. This marks a 27 percent increase year-on-year and brings life-to-date sales of the 3DS family to over 21 million.

In total, Switch, 3DS and SNES Mini sales accounted for over half of all game hardware units moved last month in the US, with over 2.6 million units sold during the lucrative holiday season.

Nintendo recently confirmed that the Switch had already beaten lifetime sales of the Wii U in Japan, as well as becoming the fastest-selling home console of all time in the US.
