As originally reported by VGC, a Nintendo Direct may take place on Thursday, February 5, which was based on information provided by NatetheHate and GameXplain. The rumor stated that this upcoming show would be a Partner Direct, meaning it would be a Nintendo Direct-style show, but one that focused on third-party games rather than classic Nintendo IPs like Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon.
If this turns out to be true, then this is an exciting time for Nintendo Switch 2 owners and, potentially, FromSoftware fans. Thanks to the Switch 2’s increased power, the console has become a hub for lots of classic third-party games to be played portably, such as Elden Ring, Resident Evil, and Cyberpunk 2077.
However, it’s the third-party exclusives like The Duskbloods that have set tongues wagging.
The Duskbloods is an upcoming multiplayer game by FromSoftware that looks to be a blend of Elden Ring Nightreign, and Bloodborne. The game was announced during a Nintendo Direct show in April 2025, but since then, both Nintendo and FromSoft have remained tight-lipped about the project.
Nintendo needs to reveal more from The Duskbloods

In that time, Nintendo released the Switch 2, which seems to be doing rather well. However, apart from remasters and the usual Nintendo fare, the console hasn’t had many big third-party wins to hang its hat on. This is why The Duskbloods feels like such an important milestone, and its importance will not be lost on Nintendo.
Should a Partner Direct take place on Thursday, then The Duskbloods is likely to be featured prominently. After all, it’s nearly been a year since it was announced, and the game is still slated for a 2026 release. Nintendo and FromSoft really need to start shining some light on this title, or it’ll start feeling like an afterthought.
Let’s not forget, as a spiritual successor to Bloodborne, The Duskbloods will be attracting that community of gamers, a group who’ve almost started to give up on a remaster or sequel ever appearing. So not only is The Duskbloods an important game for Nintendo, but the hopes of a legion of forlorn PlayStation fans are also at stake.
