PlatinumGames’ NieR: Automata has reached 1.5 million physical copies shipped and digital copies sold, Square Enix has announced.

The game, which was released on PC and PlayStation 4, launched to critical acclaim and now, not too shabby numbers for a brand new IP. Sadly, there’s no additional information on how the numbers break down across format, or physical and digital.

In April, sales were up to one million across both platforms, so 500,000 have been added to the growing number in just a month.

Only recently it came to light that developer PlatinumGames is potentially looking at bringing Bayonetta back, but maybe we’ll see more of 2B and 9S in a few years, too.
