A Resident Evil TV series is currently in production at Netflix, according to a scoop from Deadline.

Details are pretty sketchy right now, but the project will apparently be helmed by Constantin Film, the production company behind the Milla Jovovich-fronted Resident Evil movies. Netflix is currently looking for a showrunner for the series.

The show will reportedly delve into the 'inner workings' of the nefarious Umbrella Corporation, who created the T-Virus in the games. It is expected to feature a bunch of signature elements from the series, including various 'easter eggs.' Let's just hope it actually follows the story of the games, unlike those bloody awful films.

Resident Evil is also getting a movie reboot down the line, although it's still in the early stages of development.

In the meantime, Resident Evil 2 remake is out today on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. It's rather good, too.
