The latest edition of NBA 2K25 will be releasing on September 6th, and the cover stars for the new game have also been announced.
The NBA Finals ended in June following a Boston Celtics win, and now Champion Jayson Tatum will be sharing the front-cover of 2K25 alongside two-time WNBA MVP and six-time WNBA All-Star Las Vegas Aces Forward, A’ja Wilson.
NBA 2K25 release date
The release date has been confirmed by 2K as September 6th, and there’s going to be opportunities to pick up an NBA 2K25 WNBA Edition exclusive to GameStop in the US and Canada. Similarly, there’s going to be an NBA 2K25 Hall of Fame Edition featuring Vince Carter on the cover.
In terms of platforms the game will release one; PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. There will not be an early access period for NBA 2K25, nor was there one from NBA 2K24.
Expect all the game modes from previous years to return; MyTEAM, MyCAREER, MyPLAYER, MyNBA, and more.
The NBA 2K25 cover stars are now confirmed too
Jayson Tatum said that “[it’s] an honour to be named a cover athlete for NBA 2K25,” continuing that “I’ve been playing NBA 2K since I was a kid and it’s been a dream to one day be on the cover. Even after coming off an NBA Championship, it’s humbling to see this come to life.”
Similarly, cover co-star A’ja Wilson has said that “[being] featured on the NBA 2K25 cover is a big moment for me and a testament to the ever-growing fandom of the WNBA.” Wilson is making historic moves, becoming the first female cover star on the base NBA 2K25 game. “Seeing more and more WNBA athletes scanned into NBA 2K25 to best capture the style and confidence of the league has been empowering, and I can’t wait for fans to experience it in-game.”
