MW3 isn’t quite out yet, but that hasn’t stopped its diehard player base from grinding out the completionist cosmetics, such as the gold camo, available within. In fact, one dedicated gamer has already unlocked the flashy gold skin for the Gutter Knife one day ahead of the game’s actual launch – an astounding feat considering multiplayer isn’t officially playable yet, and the campaign is the only mode currently available.
But despite the lack of playable modes ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 release date, CoD Twitch streamer Reidboyy showed the community what he’s capable of by becoming the world’s first player to acquire the gold camo in MW3. To accomplish the feat, he had to complete all of the Gutter Knife’s base camo challenges and get 10 kills with the weapon itself – no easy task considering the lack of resources currently available in the game.
In addition, based on his most recent X posts, Reidboyy hasn’t been resting on his laurels, as the streamer has been busy collecting gold camos for several other weapons, including the BAS-B and the MTZ-556. For those unfamiliar with his accomplishments, Reidboyy was also the world’s first player to acquire the vaunted Polyatomic camo in 2022’s MW2, so these latest feats are just another day’s work for the CoD content creator.
Of course, it’ll take even more work to acquire MW3’s fanciest weapon skin offering, the Interstellar camo, but at the rate he’s currently going, we wouldn’t be surprised if he becomes the world’s first to do just that.
