Modern Warfare 2’s 3rd person mode will be different in the final game to what gamers experienced in the beta.

Activision confirmed on Twitter that only scopes over 4X will activate ADS – which means those with iron sights and other less ‘,zoomable’ options, will have to aim and shoot in 3rd person mode.

This will certainly help gameplay, as the beta allowed ADS with all weapons, which took away from the 3rd-person experience. With now a more limited selection of sights supporting ADS, gameplay should be faster with plenty more hip-firing, something that in first-person mode, is a rarity.

Activision also confirmed there will be an adjustable FOV for both PC and console players, so the experience can be tailored to each and everyone’s visual preferences. Gamers will also be able to shoulder swap to get the best view possible.

The changes were confirmed by the official Call of Duty Instagram

The third-person playlist went down a storm when it was revealed in The COD Next earlier this year. The event saw Activision show off a load Modern Warfare 2 news, including details about new brand new maps and modes. There was also gameplay courtesy of Call of Duty streamers.

Gamers then got to get hands on with the Modern Warfare 2 beta between Friday September 16 until September 20, making it the biggest Modern Warfare beta in history.

If you’ve got an Xbox or PC, you’ll be able to get in from the second weekend. That runs from September 22 for those with pre-orders and early access, and from September 24 until September 26 for everyone else.
