The Modern Warfare 2 beta is about to kick off its second weekend, welcoming Xbox and PC players. If you didn’t get chance to play last weekend you’re probably asking yourself how to redeem your code?
Not to worry, we’ve got all the information you need to know to get you geared up and ready to play as soon as the beta comes back in just a few hours’ time.
Without further ado, here’s how to redeem your beta code for the Modern Warfare 2 beta.
Modern Warfare 2 beta code – how to redeem
Modern Warfare 2 beta codes are not platform specific. You’ll find your code either in your email if you’ve pre-ordered digitally, or on your receipt. Of course, if your pre-order is on Steam or Battle.net, it’ll be automatically applied to your account.
If you don’t fall into the latter camp, you’ll need to redeem your CoD Modern Warfare 2 beta code. You can do so by heading to the official Modern Warfare 2 beta website here.
You’ll need to sign up for a Call of Duty account, if you don’t already have one. You’ll then be asked for your platform and region. Once you’ve done that, the screen should show a confirmation page to, well, confirm you’ve got it right.
That won’t necessarily give you your code right away though. Now it’s a case of playing the waiting game – and check your email inbox. Platform-specific codes will be emailed to you before the beta begins. Don’t forget to double check those Junk folders, if yours hasn’t arrived by the time it starts.
During the Call of Duty Next event, the official account offered free beta codes in exchange for 10,000 retweets. Alas, that giveaway has now finished with the codes given out. However, the account advises to keep an eye on Call of Duty socials during the beta – alluding to more chances in the future.
Modern Warfare 2 beta – start and end dates
As a reminder, the Modern Warfare 2 beta kicks off on Friday September 16 at 10am PT (6pm UK time) for PlayStation owners with a pre-order and early access. Everyone else with a PlayStation 5 or 4 can join in from September 18 until September 20.
If you’ve got an Xbox or PC, you’ll be able to get in from the second weekend. That runs from September 22 for those with pre-orders and early access, and from September 24 until September 26 for everyone else.
The Call of Duty Next showcase event takes place tomorrow evening, with a whole heap of CoD announcements expected including the reveal of Warzone 2.0 and Warzone Mobile.
Do I have to pre-order the game to get a beta code?
No, you will be able to enter your beta code that you may of received through giveaways or the drop during CDL Weekend by simply going to the website and entering in your code.
