The MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded release date has finally been announced and its arrival is only a few winks away. But aside from the midseason update’s launch window, Infinity Ward and Raven Software have also revealed that several new features are being brought in with the upcoming patch.

Some of the most significant features set to roll in with Season 3 Reloaded include the addition of Kevin Durant to the roster and the introduction of a Warzone 2 Ranked mode. However, there are also plenty of other goodies that are arriving soon, all of which we’ll be covering below so you know what to expect ahead of time.

MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded release date

MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded will be released on May 10, 2023. According to an Activision blog post, the midseason update is going to be bringing in a new Core multiplayer map, two full-auto sidearms, Raid episode 03, a new DMZ experience, the aforementioned Warzone 2 Ranked mode, and much more.

MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded start time

Although it hasn’t officially been confirmed at the time of writing, the midseason update will most likely start at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT / 7 PM CET. This has often been the launch time frame for previous seasons and we don’t expect it to change with Season 3 Reloaded.

MW2 Season 3 Reloaded multiplayer playlist updates

MW2 Season 3 Reloaded is bringing a new Core 6v6 map to its list of locations as well as two additional game modes that players should be able to enjoy. Here they all are:

Season 3 Reloaded new multiplayer map:

  • Alboran Hatchery (6v6)

Season 3 Reloaded new multiplayer modes:

  • Giant Infection
  • Faceoff (3v3)

The addition of Alboran Hatchery had been announced during the launch of Season 3 so it comes as no surprise that it’s being introduced as part of the midseason update. However, the introduction of Giant Infection and Faceoff are unexpected as they weren’t previously disclosed by the developers.

If you want to know what these new modes are, Giant Infection is essentially a larger version of the Infected party mode. In it, you’ll be teaming up with other players on larger Battle Maps that support a greater number of operators than the typical 6v6 locations.

On the other hand, Faceoff is a 3v3 match offering that the developers have dubbed as the “ultimate compliment to Gunfight.” With this in mind, Faceoff will similarly feature all current Gunfight maps as well as new ones once they’re eventually released.

MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded new weapons

Here are the new weapons that are being introduced with Season 3 Reloaded:

  • FTAC Siege
  • GS Magna
  • Throwing Star (Lethal Equipment)

The first two weapons listed above are both sidearms that pack a punch. The FTAC Siege is a fully automatic pistol with a high rate of fire that can down enemies in a flash. Conversely, the GS Magna is a powerful firearm, which has the ability to “pulverize enemies at close-range.” Finally, the Throwing Star is a new Lethal Equipment piece that complements the leader of the Foot Clan perfectly – assuming you know how to get the Shredder skin, that is.

MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded new operators

NBA superstar Kevin Durant is being brought in to the roster as part of Season 3 Reloaded. His inclusion in the game had been announced previously through a short teaser clip that included the phrase “Easy Money Sniper” plastered on a billboard. As basketball fans probably know, this is KD’s username on both Twitter and Instagram so many players immediately made the connection.

Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded updates

These are the following updates being made to Warzone 2 as part of Season 3 Reloaded:

  • Warzone 2 Ranked mode
  • Addition of preset perk packages, deployable buy stations, and the Gulag Entry Kit
  • Koschei Complex added to DMZ

Naturally, the biggest change that’s being introduced to the CoD battle royale is the new Ranked mode offering. Aside from giving players additional incentives to drop into Al Mazrah frequently, this competitive match type is also updating a few key Warzone 2 elements as well.

This includes the omission of Heavy Choppers, the absence of Firesales, and the removal of multi-circles. Sadly, your rock-throwing privileges at the Gulag are also being revoked in Ranked for some reason as Activision apparently thinks that it’s “just mean.”
