An exclusive article from Variety has reported the Mortal Kombat has its Shang Tsung and Scorpion castings, and the film is progressing well on its pre-production phase.

Chin Han will play the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung, and Han is known for his roles in The Dark Knight trilogy, Ghost in the Shell, and Skyscraper. Hiroyuki Sanada was seen in Avengers: Endgame, Sunshine, and The Wolverine, and will also appear in the next season of Westworld. He’s been cast as the spectral assassin and anti-hero Scorpion.

In the first Mortal Kombat movie, Shang Tsung and Scorpion were buddies. Well, sort of. Shang Tsung used his powers to enslave the undead Scorpion and his nemesis, Sub-Zero. So it was like a contractual obligation to hang out with two people that Scorpion didn’t really like in his previous life. We don’t know if Greg Russo’s script will follow a similar story, and at the moment, the full cast list is as follows.

Rivals Kano and Sonya will be played by Josh Lawson and Jessica McNamee, respectively. Tadanobu Asano is the god of lightning, Raiden, and Ludi Lin will take on the role of Liu Kang. Joe Taslim, Sisi Stringer, and Mehcad Brooks have been cast as Sub-Zero, Mileena, and Jax. Lewis Tan, from Into the Badlands and Iron Fist, has been brought onto the project for an unannounced role.

Mortal Kombat releases in theaters on March 5, 2021. Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and starlets will grace the stages very soon as DLC. One of these famous faces is the Terminator, because the Mortal Kombat universe obeys no laws of space, nor time, nor human biology.
