With NetherRealm Studios finally having made the move to current generation consoles, its latest fighting game installment entitled Mortal Kombat 1 has naturally seen a few major improvements in terms of its graphics, gameplay, and quality-of-life features.

However, the most striking upgrade of all that’s become evident throughout the course of the Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test is the visual fidelity of its new stages. Now, each brutal entry in this classic series has often introduced plenty of new arenas in order to keep fans constantly entertained. But, even though new locations were an expected addition, it seems that players didn’t quite expect the graphical enhancements that have arrived along with it as evidenced by several comments on social media.

One user named Cubelock recently created a thread on Reddit asking the MK1 community what they thought of the game’s stage design and a majority of the responses that were posted praised NetherRealm Studios’ latest effort. One commenter noted that they “really enjoy the new direction.” “I really like the new way how traditions and modern things are combined together, feels different from previous games,” they continued.

Another user echoed the previous statements by saying that the stages are “very distinct, colorful, and vibrant with lots of little details.” “My guess is that later on, they’ll reveal a bunch of other stages that are like the complete opposite of these, with a darker feel to contrast,” the same person concluded.

Now, since the developer has often had a tendency of introducing new stages with expansion packs, this may just end up being the case once again with Mortal Kombat 1. But even if there aren’t any more arenas introduced in the future, the mountain of positive reactions so far indicate that MK fans will continue to enjoy the current ones that are already on offer in all their current generation glory.
