Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter World has sold 8.3 million copies worldwide on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The figure takes into account both digital and physical sales of the monster-mashing title, which launched in January and quickly established itself as the fastest-selling title in Capcom history. Yep, even more than Street Fighter II and Resident Evil 5.

Monster Hunter World is due to launch on PC early next month, which will no doubt give sales a further shot in the arm.

If you haven't played it yet, Monster Hunter World comes highly recommended by VideoGamer, so do yourself a favour and pony up the cash for it. Remember, there's a Final Fantasy XIV crossover event happening this summer, so there's no better time to get stuck in.

Elsewhere, the Japanese publisher also revealed that it has 'high expectations' for Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2, which are slated to appear in spring 2019 and January 25, respectively.
