Capcom has taken the lid off its forthcoming collaboration with Sega as Sonic the Hedgehog arrives in Monster Hunter Rise next week.

The new content will arrive on November 26, and see two new special event quests to collect Sonic’s famous rings. The description also notes we’ll hear some “classic compositions” from the series. While it doesn’t mention which ones, the trailer below includes Sonic Adventure 2 bop Escape from the City.

Completing these quests will unlock three unique Sonic and Tails armour sets for you and your companions. Your Hunter gets to wear some dashing Sonic Wear layered armour, while your Palamute can sport a nifty Tails number. If that wasn’t enough, your Palico even gets cosmetics that make him look like Sonic. In fact, it also lets them do the Blue Blur’s iconic Spin Dash move too.

If that wasn’t quite enough, the Palico costume also offers an extra feature. Using a Felvine Bulb causes the Palico to transform into Super Sonic, complete with a nifty chaos emerald animation. You can check all this out in the trailer for the collaboration below.

The Monster Hunter Rise Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration will be available in Monster Hunter Rise on November 26 on the Nintendo Switch. The game’s official Twitter account also notes the DLC will be available for PC owners too when that version arrives in January.
