Monster Hunter 3G, the first title in the blockbuster series to arrive on Nintendo’s latest handheld, sold a massive 471,055 copies in just two days, according to Enterbrain figures.

The success of Monster Hunter 3G also appears to have helped boost 3DS hardware sales, recording its best ever sales week of 378,114 units. The previous best was 371,326 units achieved back at launch.

The surge in sales also pushed the 3DS over the three million milestone, with the life to date figure now standing at 3,237,272 units.
