Mojang has, out of nowhere, released casual strategy game Crown & Council as a free download on Steam.

The game began as a game jam creation, but now has 75 procedurally generated maps, with the generator included so more can be made. The game was created entirely by Mojang’s Henrik Pettersson.

Crown & Council is described as a “fast-paced strategy game about conquering land and obliterating rival monarchs. Click adjacent land tiles to subdue them with your army, earning gold to fund further expeditions, defensive forts, naval attacks, universities and more. Muscle your opposition off the map! There can be only one ruler in these lands!”
