Modern Warfare 3 publisher Activision along with Sledgehammer Games are going to be revealing the primary antagonist for their next series installment tomorrow. Hardcore series fans may already be familiar with the name that’s set to be announced soon. But for those that aren’t, the reveal trailer that’ll be going live in a handful of hours will showcase the one name that should strike fear into Task Force 141’s collective heart: Vladimir Makarov.

With the Modern Warfare 3 release date currently slated for the end of the year, Activision is steadily starting to provide more details about the next expansion-turned-standalone game. Naturally, one of the most important elements of any CoD release is the ruthless villain that’s responsible for and their decision to provide a Makarov reveal trailer proves just that.

First featured in the original Modern Warfare installments of the 2000’s and 2010’s, Makarov was the mastermind behind a majority of the conflict that was exhibited through most of the previous games’ plots. This meant that the original Task Force 141 (comprised of series mainstays like Soap, Price, and Gaz) were often hot on his tail in attempting to put a stop to his sinister schemes.

Naturally, the good guys won out in the end as a climactic battle between Price and Makarov concluded the past story arc. But with the Russian ultranationalist having been cast out of the limelight until now, we can most likely expect a completely different plot to materialize once the game drops. With this in mind, if you want to catch the reveal trailer as soon as it goes live, we suggest heading over to Call of Duty’s official stream page on YouTube. The Modern Warfare 3 Makarov reveal trailer airs at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET / 3 PM BST on August 9, 2023.

In other news, Modern Warfare 3 reveal trailer fails to convince skeptics as some still wary of preordering and Modern Warfare 3 slide cancel mechanic may be returning.
