Activision has dropped this year’s celebrity filled trailer for Call of Duty, with Modern Warfare 2’s Squad Up trailer.

After taking a couple of years off (presumably because one based around World War 2 for last year’s Vanguard might have come off a bit disrespectful) the new promo takes the form of a military chant.

Those appearing in the ad include rappers Lil Baby and Nicki Minaj, NFL stars David Long Jr and Jalen Ramsey, UK football player Bukayo Saka, F1 driver Lando Norris and comedian Pete Davidson.

Check the trailer out for yourself down below.

Each of them join in with various lines of the chant, as we’re told that Modern Warfare 2 isn’t just a game, but a way of life – no matter where you’re from. Lovely.

Now, we’re going to pretend we’re cool or anything (and this writer had to look up some of these names as he didn’t recognise them) but it’s not one of the more memorable celebrity ad campaigns for the series.

It’s certainly no Peter Stormare’s The Replacer series for the Black Ops games, nor does it really show off… well, any at all of the game even in a hyper-exaggerated sense like the Jonah Hill/Sam Worthington Vet & the n00B series for MW3.

But hey, it got the job done that we’re talking about it – and reminds us that Modern Warfare 2 is indeed coming on October 28. So we’ll let you make your own mind up.

It’s far from the end of the celebrity dalliances with series too, we’d wager. Earlier this week it’s been claimed by leakers that Modern Warfare 2 could be getting Operators based on real life footballers.

Don’t forget, early access to Modern Warfare 2’s campaign is also set to kick off from October 20.
