PlayStation Studios has announced baseball sim MLB The Show 22 will mark the debut of the series on Nintendo Switch this April.
The announcement on the PlayStation Blog confirmed the new version will alongside the Xbox and PlayStation versions. Last year, the series made waves when it announced the Sony San Diego developed game would come to the Xbox for the first time.
Once again, this year’s entry will also launch right onto Xbox Game Pass. All three versions will also support cross-platform play and cross progression across the systems. There’ll be a couple of exceptions to this rule, as there’s some PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S exclusive features such as the Stadium Creator. There’ll even be a cross save function allowing you to transfer saves between systems easily.
PlayStation Studios are yet to reveal new features in this year’s game. However, we do know who’ll be on the cover. As the video below reveals, Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels takes the honours this time around. This follows a very impressive 2021 season with 46 home runs and 156 strikeouts under his belt.
In very apt timing, Jim Ryan has spoken about PlayStation’s potential multiplatform future following their purchase of Bungie last night. MLB The Show 22 arrives April 5 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 & Nintendo Switch.
