Metal Gear Solid Delta’s Ape Escape content won’t be playable on all platforms 

Following the leaked Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release date, Konami has now officially confirmed when players will be able to get their hands on the long-awaited remake: August 28, 2025. 

For PlayStation 5 and PC players, the new remake will also include the return of Ape Escape content from the original PS2 version. However, this content won’t be available on Xbox Series machines. 

Xbox won’t get Metal Gear Solid Delta’s Ape Escape 

In the release date trailer for Xbox consoles, the hilarious Ape Escape content has been entirely scrapped. Instead, the trailer features a series of explosions and a Bomberman silhouette with the caption: “Snake vs ???”.

With the huge differences between Ape Escape and Bomberman, it seems that this Xbox mode is an entirely new feature for players to experience instead of a basic reskin. 

In the past, Konami explained that it wanted to include all possible Easter Eggs from the original PS2 game in the new Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake. However, with PlayStation’s stingy history of IP licensing, it seems that the small Ape Escape content won’t be playable on Xbox’s machines, but at least gamers have something to enjoy. 

The news has been met with excitement from Xbox fans with many praising Konami for taking the time to create something bespoke for the platform. It’s not known if this content will also be playable on the PC version of the game.
