Konami has removed ‘A Hideo Kojima game’ from the start of Metal Gear Solid Delta. The company does however acknowledge the creator later on in the credits, which we have captured below, clearly stating that the story, planning and game design are Kojima’s.

Metal Gear Solid Delta isn’t a Kojima game
In the latest episode of the Metal Gear Solid Production Hotline, which we have commended for its transparancy, producer Noriaki Okamura revealed the Kojima title card will not be present in the upcoming remake. As the game director didn’t direct this particular version of the game he will not get his usual accreditation.
“Games Mr Kojima didn’t personally direct don’t have ‘a Hideo Kojima game'”
Noriaki okamura
“It’s always been the case that games Mr Kojima didn’t personally direct don’t have ‘a Hideo Kojima game,’” Okamura said. “So for MGS Delta: Snake Eater, we decided it just made sense to follow that precedent.” Instead, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will simply say “based on Metal Gear Solid 3”. This is controversial, but does make sense as it’s another production team making the game.
Kojima’s future
Elsewhere, the iconic game director is still exploring brilliant ideas elsewhere. After the success of Death Stranding, the director quickly got to work on a sequel, and he’s also working on a brand-new Xbox-exclusive horror game known only as OD. While Kojima may one day return to the genre of stealth action, he’s currently hard at work on several exciting new projects. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater releases on Xbox Series, PS5 and PC later this year.
