The wait for the Wii version of BioWare classic MDK2 is almost over, according to developer IdeaSpark Labs.

Trent Oster, head of IdeaSpark, posted on the Beamdog forums, revealing that “MDK2 for WiiWare has entered the final stages of the certification process.”

“We’re anxiously awaiting approval from Nintendo so the game can go on sale,” Oster added. “The Wiimote adds a great deal to the gameplay, making a great action platformer even better.”

MDK2 is over 10 years old now, but it’s widely considered to be an excellent third-person shooter. It’ll be interesting to see how it’s been ported to the Wii. An HD version is also in the works for the PC.
