It seems as though the Marvel Snap community’s worst fears have been realised, as a recently released Darkhawk bundle has been slammed as one of the card battle’s worst to buy yet.

Over on the Marvel Snap subreddit, players are already calling the $30 offering “a joke” in a thread started by Grismoldthestowaway, saying that the Darkhawk set “Has to be one of the worst bundles”. Plenty of other community members agree, including BoopQueen who says that “on all accounts this is not worth the money, in this month’s bundles this is the single worst bundle to buy past a booster pack, really shows a lot.”

BoopQueen also joins many players of the belief many shared a couple of weeks ago, ahead of this bundle appearing on the store. “The only reason this is such a high asking price is because they kept Darkhawk series 4 so they could sell it to people who want to play a meta card.” There’s also a number of comments calling Second Dinner out for the move they perceive as a profit-ahead-of-player decision “£30 for that is a complete joke,” says gazzatticus. “This company is getting so greedy they’re starting to make EA look reasonable.”

The bundle content itself, for the record, includes a Darkhawk variant card, with its own unique design compared to the regular card, an avatar picture, 1000 Credits (usually worth approximately $15) and 210 Darkhawk Boosters used to upgrade the cards. Some users don’t think the advertised “3x value” for this bundle adds up, such as Grismoldthestowaway: “I’d love to know what they are using to calculate this 3x value cause this is really only like 25$ worth of stuff. It kinda just seems like false advertising.”

Marvel Snap recently dropped its June Conquest update, giving a huge nerf to big baddie Galactus, which itself came after the delayed deployment of the High Evolutionary card. The game is available now on iOS, Android and on PC via Steam.
