NetEase’s Marvel Rivals is out right now on Xbox Series, PS5 and PC, giving players an Overwatch-like hero shooter with over 30 playable characters. However, more characters are undoubtedly coming to the title and one leaker claims an iconic Marvel supervillain is on his way very soon.
Marvel Rivals Ultron is on the way?
According to one leaker, Marvel Rivals is set to bring Ultron to the game in an upcoming update to the game. Found within files for the game, the iconic Iron Man villain is allegedly making his debut in NetEase’s game very soon.
According to the leak, Ultron will play a support role in Marvel Rivals, Alongside a burning energy beam attack, the character will be able summon drones that will target and heal nearby allies. Ultron is also said to be able to summon a single “giant drone” that will follow a single ally and heal within a small radius.
Just like Iron Man, Ultron will be able to shift into a “free-fly” mode in Marvel Rivals, offering a tonne of free movement. The character’s Ult move is quite similar to Iron Man’s as well, releasing a huge barrage of energy from drones that can result in massive damage or, if used on allies, huge heals.
The leaker reveals that Ultron will release “sooner” than players think, possibly arriving in the game’s next season or mid-way through the debut season. However, it’s worth noting that no official date has been announced for any new characters.
It’s worth noting that any leak should be taken with a grain of salt. Just because a character has been found within the game files that doesn’t mean it’ll actually release in the finished game. As Marvel Rivals game designer Thaddeus Sasser told us, datamined leaks can end up being more disappointing to players.
