Like a 5-star recruit coming out of high school, all eyes continue to be on EA’s tremendously successful College Football 25 release. And with plaudits steadily coming in from every corner of the sports game community, the main beneficiary could end up being its professional league sibling, Madden 25. Of course, this may already be a given since Madden remains one of the biggest sports game series to date. But EA CEO Andrew Wilson isn’t exactly helping temper expectations after claiming that “Madden 25 is going to be the best Madden we’ve ever made.”

As part of their recently concluded earnings call for Q1 2025, Wilson added, “I know I say that every year, but the teams continue to outdo themselves, including a whole bunch of new modes and new ways to play combined with a whole new set of players that have come into the community through College Football that will be providing a path—if they haven’t already bought the MVP bundle—from College into Madden.” He also reiterated that both games will be complementary of each other despite being similar in gameplay.

For those unfamiliar, the MVP bundle Wilson is referring to gets you both Madden NFL 25, College Football 25, and a whole bunch of goodies for both games, including early access for the former and Ultimate Team items for the latter. However, it will cost you quite a bit since the bundle costs $149.99 on both PlayStation and Xbox.

Wilson ended his statement by revealing that “pre-orders in Madden are off to a really strong start,” so his claims of it being the “best” they’ve made to date may just end up holding water. For now, though, only time will tell if it can live up to the hype or falter in the spotlight.

Not to be confused with its similarly named 2013 predecessor, the upcoming Madden NFL 25 release date is kicking off soon. Unlike College Football 25, it will continue to be available on both previous and current gen platforms, including the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
