One of the most underrated moves one can apply when running with the ball in Madden 23, is the hurdle option. With fans quick to use the juke or spin moves because of the effectiveness each caters, they will sometimes forget to hurdle, and in the process, miss out on an important way to gain extra yards.

That said, the reason why it’s a move that doesn’t always get utilized in Madden 23, comes down to the infrequency of low diving tackles from defenders. The hurdle won’t be effective for standing tackles and even waist high hits can be too challenging to clear. As a result, the only time you can use it, is when the defender executes a tackle that is low enough to leap over.

However, if timed correctly upon recognizing an incoming knee high tackle, the hurdle can be very effective and allow you to add on chunks of yards to your runs. Though it’s not the most fluid option, it’s a helpful one that brings out the authenticity of the gameplay in Madden 23.

Additional Tip: Much like any other moves in Madden 23, hurdling requires you to recognize what the defender is aiming to do and to time your decision making in correspondence to the defenders attempted tackle. Out of all the running moves at your disposal, hurdling is certainly one of the more challenging options to pull off.

But when done correctly, it can be one of the most gratifying and effective moves to implement on the run. However, knowing which offensive players that have the best jumping and agility ratings will go a long way when maximizing your hurdling ability in game.
