A major reality many athletes share in common, whether they’ve made it as professionals or not, is how their passion for the game they play all began when they were kids. Naturally, the starting points for each athlete’s journey will differ depending on the person and the sport. But for those that play American football, many will tell you about the legendary showdowns that transpired in their very own backyards.
To celebrate the joy and fun of backyard football, Madden 23 decided to produce a special new player drop for its Ultimate Team community, presenting its very own Backyard Ballers Program. For those that have played football in their backyards, you will not only recall how much fun it was, but you might also remember how many different roles you might have had to play or take on for your team.
Well, lo and behold, this very Backyard Ballers Program honors just that, introducing a slew of new Out Of Position NFL stars fans will be able to add to their Ultimate Team lineups. That’s right! This drop is exclusively Out Of Position (OOP) players and comes baring some top tier items.
Similarly to previous Madden 23 programs, the Backyard Ballers is a two-part feature. The Part 1 reveal of the Backyard Ballers Program took place on the final, weekly scheduled Good Morning Madden Twitch live stream last Wednesday, May 3, with the actual release of the new program going live the next day. Fast forward a week later, and Madden 23 Ultimate Team has returned with its second and final part of the Backyard Ballers Program, which was released in-game today.
So with Parts 1 and 2 now live, here’s a look at all the new players as well as all the details you need to know about the Backyard Ballers Program in Madden 23 Ultimate Team.
Madden 23 – Backyard Ballers Field Pass
The Madden 23 Backyard Ballers Program comes with its very own Field Pass that, unsurprisingly, is stacked with great rewards. Consisting of 21 Levels of prizes, fans need to collect a hefty 60,500 XP to complete the Backyard Ballers Field Pass, and upon doing so, will receive the last of four 97 OVR Backyard Ballers Hero Fantasy Packs available.
Along with these Backyard Ballers Fantasy Packs, players will have the opportunity to collect increments of 5,000 MUT Coin and 22,500 Season 4 XP. However, to top it all off, fans will also be able to unlock two special items that Madden 23 calls ‘Conqueror’s Crests’.
When unlocking these Crest items, fans will be able to use them to take on the ‘Concrete Conquerors’. To locate the Concrete Conquerors, fans will need to visit the ‘Conqueror’s Path’ menu under the main ‘Play’ tab in Madden 23 Ultimate Team. Inside, you will see two game modes pop up – Concrete Qualifiers and Concrete Conquerors.
If you secure all seven wins for the Qualifiers challenges, you will receive another Crest item that can be used to battle against the Concrete Conquerors. However, should you win four games against the Conquerors, you will receive a 92 Backyard Ballers player and 3,000 MUT Coin – and if you win all five, you will get your hands on a 92+ OVR Backyard Ballers player.
The first Conqueror’s Crest item can be acquired at Level 4, while the second is available to unlock at Level 16 in the Field Pass. Keep in mind though that when you take on a Concrete Conqueror, it will cost you one of these Crest items. To secure these Crests in the Field Pass, you will need to earn Backyard Ballers XP, which can be done by completing Solo Battles, House Rules, Sets, Challenges, and more. Other Crest items can be unlocked just by signing into MUT or by completing the Qualifier challenges.
