Valorant continues its reign as one of the most popular shooters in recent history, and a big part of that is developer Riot Games’ consistent addition of new agents. Now, typically, characters are announced through official channels, whether on Twitter/X, Discord, or the game’s website. But sometimes, they’re also indirectly revealed through new cosmetics or accessories, which is seemingly what’s happened with the latest agent teaser.
Based on a new Time’s Up Player Card Riot’s adding into Valorant, the next agent set to arrive will allegedly be able to control either sand or time. The player card’s graphic depicts a broken hourglass wrapped in thorns, so some think that the new character will be an Initiator. Though, of course, this is still mere speculation since the developers have yet to confirm what the upcoming agent’s actual skills will be, so take these details with a grain of salt, as always.
It’s also worth noting that a previous Valorant leak had revealed an upcoming agent’s codename as SHERRY. However, ValorantLeaksEN added that this “may or may not be our next agent,” which means this could either be the next character revealed or they could get added into the game way down the line. Previously, though, Clove, codenamed SMOKEDANCE in leaks, was introduced soon after being unofficially revealed, so Sherry’s arrival could be soon.
Hopefully, with Valorant Champions 2024 set to kick off in a couple of weeks, more details on the next agent will arrive at that time.
