Kumail Nanjiani, probably most famous for his role as Dinesh Chugtai in the comedy series Silicon Valley, will be playing a pretty weird orc in Warner Bros.’ upcoming Middle-earth: Shadow of War. In the sequel to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Nanjiani plays The Agoniser, an orc who seems anxious about being an orc.

In a trailer first revealed at Comic Con, Nanjiani, who voiced Director Tann in Mass Effect: Andromeda earlier this year, explains that The Agoniser ‘Wants to be badass, and he wants to be cool, but he really second guesses himself and he overthinks everything. He writes these insults and then in the moment he’s not sure if they’re good, or if he can commit to them.’ It’s one of a few interesting character directions the game seems to be taking.

Warner describes The Agoniser as ‘just one of the numerous personalities players may encounter through the Nemesis System’, so at this stage it’s unclear if The Agoniser is a more standard orc captain you can encounter or kill, or if he’ll have a larger role like Ratbag the Coward did in the first game.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an open-world action adventure where you command an army of orcs and attempt to overthrow Sauron (an attempt which, based on the existence of The Lord of The Rings books, is probably going to be unsuccessful). Middle-earth: Shadow of War is out on Xbox One, PC and PS4 on October 10.Â
