Last night’s Nintendo Direct saw everyone’s favourite pink hero showcase Mouthful Mode in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

In this new 3D adventure, Kirby finds himself in what seems to be an abandoned human-esque world. He’ll be able to use his famous inhale ability not just on enemies, but now also on objects in the world to get new powers. Some examples shown include a car to become a car to traverse the levels as… well, a car.

Other examples shown during the presentation included shooting cans as a vending machine and literally glowing as a light bulb. The ability the pink puffball gets will, naturally, depend on what he inhales. He’ll even be able to inhale water to shoot it out like a water cannon.

We’re also shown that Copy Abilities, which are the powers from inhaling enemies, can be upgraded and evolved. You’ll do this by saving Waddle Dees and populating the Waddle Dee Village introduced in the previous trailer. You can check out all this and the new abilities in the new footage for yourself below.

You’ll be able to get your mouth around all of this when Kirby and the Forgotten Land arrives on Nintendo Switch on March 25, 2022.
