Sony has revealed that Killzone: Mercenary, an FPS title developed exclusively for the PS Vita by Guerrilla Games, is using the same engine as PS3 game Killzone 3.

Killzone: Mercenary is said to make full use of the handheld’s graphical and input capabilities, and certainly looked the part in the trailer revealed at Sony’s gamescom press briefing.

For the first time in the series’ history you’ll be fighting alongside Helghast forces as well as ISA specialists, giving you a unique view on the ongoing conflict.

You’re a mercenary for hire, free to decide which tactics, weapons and tools you’ll use on each mission, with your employers handing over cash and high-powered weapons in reward for a job well done.

Killzone: Mercenary has been given a 2013 release.
