Jedi Survivor players are seething, not just because of yet another poor PC port, but because now the game is apparently unplayable without the day one patch.

The Jedi Survivor day one patch is allegedly needed for players to progress further in the game, with one player on Reddit highlighting this potential road-block.

The Reddit post, which has expectedly been received with mixed response, is currently dividing the community. Many are under the impression that EA have themselves blocked players from progressing further, while others are thinking that the original poster has simply picked up a Disc copy of the game without completing the ‘initial download.’ We recently reported that Jedi Survivor physical copies that will still require a download, so it’s surprising to see gamers still unaware of this.

Some commenters are retorting that “[Original Poster] bought this first day,” implying it’s their own fault for not waiting for more information, while others are pointing their pitchforks at EA for “[assuming] we all have internet access all the time” to download huge updates.

Whatever the cause for this gamer being unable to progress through the game without installing a patch, it seems that EA have their work cut out for them. Stuttering frame rate and crashing issues have loudly announced themselves, and many are looking how to refund a game on Steam due to this very game. While we’re sure that the developers wouldn’t choose to stop players from progressing without good reason, we’re on the lookout for any one else experiencing this alleged issue, though we have yet to see any other sources confirming it.
