PlayStation Studios has announced that Haven Studios is now an official first party studio for the company.

Herman Hulst formally welcomed Raymond and her new team to the Blue brand today on the PlayStation Blog. Perhaps expectedly, he revealed the deal had been something on the cards since the announcement of their first game. That was revealed last year as a new, PlayStation exclusive AAA multiplayer IP.

Raymond herself gave a statement on the announcement. She said the game is “on track to deliver a AAA multiplayer experience with a vision to build a systemic and evolving world focused on freedom, thrill, and playfulness that will keep players entertained and engaged for years.”

The team at PlayStation had already been working with Haven since the announcement of the untitled project. However, now they’ll also get to collaborate with teams like Guerrilla, Naughty Dog and Insomniac. “We’re excited to learn from these world-class studios, as well as the exceptional central creative, technology and marketing teams whose expertise will enable us to deliver even better games to players.”

There’s still no name or timeframe for Haven Studios’ first game yet, so we’ll have to wait and see for more. However, Jade closed by thanking the Haven Studios and PlayStation teams and the fans for their patience. “We can’t wait to share more,” she said. “We’re just at the beginning of what is sure to be a wondrous adventure that will span generations.”
