Switch users in particular are predictably asking about the game’s compatibility with the handheld system since it continues to be one of the most popular consoles in the market. Since the Nintendo console is a relatively underpowered platform compared to the consoles listed above, this may be why Capcom decided to initially exclude it from the list of compatible systems.

It’s worth noting, though, that it could still possibly make its way to the handheld console at some point in the future based on the availability of previously released titles. Both the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remakes are currently playable on the Switch through a cloud version, which were both released in November 2022.

Keep in mind, though, that nothing is set in stone at the time of writing since Capcom is yet to actually address concerns on RE4 Remake’s Switch availability. However, the fan base’s loyalty and the popularity of the title could eventually force the developers to bring it to the portable gaming system in the future.
