Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 is nearly upon us, with survival horror fans eager to get their hands on the upcoming remake
While many of those fans will be fighting the monsters of the Ganados and the other creatures on current generation consoles, there are a few wondering if they’ll be able to play the game on the reliable PS4.

Furthermore, can those same people upgrade to the PlayStation 5 once they’ve made the leap to the next generation? Lets answer those questions for you here.
Will Resident Evil 4 Remake be on PS4?
Yes. The Resident Evil 4 Remake is available on the PlayStation 4 as well as the PlayStation 5.
It’s an impressive achievement that the older console is able to run the game – and that’s thanks in part to the game running on the RE: Engine, which has been powering Resident Evil games for some time now, including last year’s Resident Evil Village.
However, it’s worth noting that over on the Xbox side, Resident Evil 4 Remake won’t be released on Xbox One. Capcom hasn’t said why or if it’s a technical issue – but for now, PlayStation 4 will be the only console you can play the new game on for the previous generation of consoles.
