New players are constantly being introduced to Blizzard’s classic Diablo 3 title, adding to its steady and devoted player base. But since beginners often prefer playing with their friends to get acclimated to the game’s environment, some are now asking if this third ARPG installment has crossplay functionality available.

As always, we’re here to answer this particular question for you so you won’t have to keep searching any longer. So with that said, here’s all that we know about the integration of crossplay in Diablo 3.

Does Diablo 3 have crossplay?

Sadly, Diablo 3 does not have crossplay available so players will not be able to join up with others on different platforms. This means that if you’re playing the game on PC, you unfortunately won’t be able to join your friend on the PlayStation 4.

Its predecessor, Diablo 2, and the subsequent remake also don’t have cross-platform play either, which may have influenced the developer’s decision to exclude it from the third installment. Fortunately, those that plan on playing the latest fourth entry will be able to enjoy the game with friends no matter what platform they’re on.

It’s worth noting, though, that since Blizzard continues to provide patches for Diablo 3, this feature could still possibly be included in a future update. The latest patch that they provided was only recently released in February 2023 and it included several welcome gameplay changes, such as class balances, skill and item alterations, and the customary bug fixes.

But now that the release of Diablo 4 is practically here, however, it may be a long time before this function is introduced to the game. With this in mind, we recommend getting into the fourth installment for the time being – or at least until they bring in crossplay to Diablo 3.
