Guerrilla Games has announced that it’s created a memorial within Horizon Forbidden West to honour the memory of the late actor Lance Reddick.

The memorial was quietly added in the game’s latest 1.26 patch for expansion Burning Shores that dropped earlier this week, but the memorial itself was revealed publicly today and includes a touching tribute to the star, who passed away in March of this year at the age of 60. The tweet also included a message dedicated to the late actor, reading “Thank you Lance, for everything you brought to the role of Sylens; your gravitas, your energy, wisdom and more. An incomparable talent and friend. We miss you terribly.”

Of course, fans on the game’s subreddit have found the touching tribute already, and are now sharing the location to fellow fans to allow them to pay their respects to the man who played Sylens across several Horizon games. For example, unkindness_inabottle says “They actually made a monument for him! This makes me so excited, ever since I saw the news and was waiting for the burning shores I was hoping for some kind of memorial for him, glad to see this for myself aswell!” It was a sentiment echoed by a number of other fans, as they shared their memories “He’s one of those actors that makes anything he’s in better,” added R3allyG00dLawy3r, “Truly one of the most talented actors I’ve ever seen.”

Spoilers ahead if you’re wanting to discover it for yourself, but if you want pointing in the right direction, the monument can be found in the North East region of the map, south of the Hollywood sign and lava flow, as detailed by the handy video below from Elkyri.

Reddick passed away on March 17, 2023 at his home in Los Angeles. A keen gamer himself, on top of his film and television roles in The Wire and the John Wick series, he also played major roles in Quantum Break and the Destiny series.
