Guerrilla Games has announced during the Game Awards that Horizon Forbidden West will be getting an expansion in the form of Burning Shores.

The expansion will see Aloy travel to California, where she’ll be exploring their particular brand of post apocalypse and how it effected Hollywood and Tinseltown.

We even got a glimpse of a large robot creature destroying the Hollywood sign – of course – in the trailer for the expansion, which you can see below.

Aloy will be exploring a dangerous new region to the South – taking place not long after the conclusion of Horizon Forbidden West’s main story.

As per the PlayStation Blog: “Our creative vision for the Burning Shores is an ambitious expansion which will take Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles. It’s an overgrown and fractured city that can be fully explored via the water and flying on the back of a Sunwing.”

Of course, Aloy will have a pretty dangerous threat to deal with, described as “A massive machine threat lurks in its shadows – a huge challenge that Aloy must overcome by using all of her skills and abilities.”

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores release date

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will arrive on April 19, 2023. However, it should be noted that this expansion will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive and will not be available on PS4.
