Can you use Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy? Let’s find out prior to jumping into Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy’s release is right around the corner, and pre-orders are selling like hotcakes. However, fans are bummed to find that Quidditch and the iconic Patronus Charm won’t be gameplay features.

But they’ve now turned their attention to the Unforgivable Curses and are particularly aching to know if they can conjure the Killing Curse, Avada Kedavra, in Hogwarts Legacy.

Will Avada Kedavra Be A Gameplay Feature?

You-Know-Who and his Death Eaters will be pleased to know that players can access every Unforgivable Curse from the Harry Potter Series, including Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy.

And like Voldermort, you can generously use the Killing Spell to your satisfaction.

Fans will also be happy to find that the game developers stayed true to the spirit of the Harry Potter series, as gameplay shows that you can do away with an Armored Troll with a single cast of the Killing Curse.

However, for the few glimpses of bosses we’ve been shown, we’re not sure if Avada Kedavra can be used against them. But again, that’s just how Showcases are, as the rest is left up for players to discover.

But even if you can freely use it against bosses, they’ll need to balance it further, as it only takes a chug of Focus Potion to reduce its cooldown.

How To Use Avada Kedavra In Hogwarts Legacy

There are two ways to access the Avada Kedavra spell in Hogwarts Legacy: the Dark Arts Battle Arena and the base game. Once you get the Killing Curse, you’ll have to equip it in one of your spell slots.

You’ll need to pay a little extra for Deluxe Edition to gain access to the Dark Arts Battle Arena. Some of its various perks include 72-Hour-early access to the game and the ability to casually cast Killing Curse against AI enemies in Dark Arts Battle Arena for in-game goodies.

The good thing is there will be no severe implications, including no tickets to Azkaban.

However, for the base game, it’s up to players if they’ll want to play the goody-two-shoes Wizard or embrace the Dark Arts.

Either way, they’ll have to choose between the two at some point in Sebastian Sallow’s quest line. And by going down the Dark Arts route, you’ll access Avada Kedavra and the other Curses, which’ll likely shape your game’s outcome.

Is Avada Kedavra the only spell that kills?

Yes, Avada Kedavra is the only spell that kills, at least as far as the books are concerned. However, this most likely won’t change once Hogwarts Legacy is released since it takes place in a much earlier timeline than in the novels.

How do I get Avada Kedavra?

You’ll only be able to unlock the Killing Curse in a Sebastian Sallow side mission near the end of the main plotline. The most likely reason for the late inclusion of the Avada Kedavra spell within the game is because of its power. It can kill any individual with only one hit and if players were to acquire it early on in the story, finishing it would be too easy.

As previously mentioned, you’ll also be able to get it through the Dark Arts Battle Arena, which is only accessible by purchasing the Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy. Once you’ve obtained Avada Kedavra, you’ll simply need to place it in one of your spell slots to use it.
