Hitman GO, a brand-new turn-based strategy experience, is in development for tablets and smartphones, Square Enix has announced.

Developed by Square Enix Montreal, Hitman GO will feature rendered diorama-style set pieces, with players tasked with strategically navigating fixed spaces on a grid to avoid enemies and take out the target or infiltrate well-guarded locations.

The game is said to be almost ready for launch with just some testing needed before its global release.

Square Enix Montreal says it has also been working on something else “that fits perfectly within the Hitman fantasy – and you won’t have to wait too long for it either”.

A release date and pricing for the game has yet to be announced.
