YouTuber, Dripku, has leaked a stealth inspired Helldivers 2 Redacted Regiment Warbond while showcasing gameplay of the weapons on a lava planet that looks exactly like Mustafar from Star Wars. According to the YouTuber (spotted by Fandom Wire), the primary weapons included in the Warbond are a R-72 Censor Supressed Marksman Rifle and AR-39 Suppressor.
These primary weapons will be accompanied by a support weapon called the P-35 Re-Educator which is a dart weapon with confusion/DoT effects. There will also be a TM-1 Lure Mine that attracts enemies before exploding, and a G-89 Smokescreen grenade. Lastly, there will be a B/MD C4 Pack Stratagem which remotely detonates six C4 charges.
As for armor, the description says they are the “RS-100 Sanctioner, RS-67 Null Cipher, and RS-89 Shadow Paragon”. According to the leaker, they come with a “Reduced Signature” passive. This results in 50% less noise when moving as well as “Reduces range at which enemies can detect the wearer by 40%”.
What’s visually most interesting is the lava planet Dripku used to showcase the Warbond. Loading screens earlier this year teased the possibility of lava biomes, and this leak shows a scorched battlefield where players will need to fight through the fire and the flames. It looks a lot like Mustafar from Star Wars, so brace yourselves for all the “I have the high ground” jokes.
We can’t show the video or screenshots here for copyright reasons, but you can check out the gameplay on Dripku’s YouTube channel provided it doesn’t get taken down.
Next Helldivers 2 Warbond Delayed
Although Arrowhead personnel originally suggested that the Helldivers 2 Warbond wouldn’t be delayed because of separate teams, CEO, Shams Jorjani, recently confirmed that they decided to postpone the Warbond so that they could collectively focus on update 4.1.0.
We now no longer know when the next Warbond should be released, but hopefully it’s not too far away. Currently, Arrowhead has more patches lined up, but they have warned fans that it will take “many months” to meaningfully improve performance and return to what the studio hopes is a “new normal”.
What Arrowhead mean by “new normal” isn’t entirely clear, but it’s presumably a return to adding new content. Everyone would obviously love to play new content, but Arrowhead are making the right move by prioritising performance before they once again start adding to the game’s “crippling technical debt”.
