Helldivers 2 is finally on Xbox consoles, and there was a huge update delivered on release day delivering a Hive World for players to encroach. And, to help deal with this Hive World, Arrowhead is releasing a new Warbond in just a week’s time. The release of HD2 on Xbox consoles resulted in a wave of fresh Super Earth recruits, and now the Helldivers 2 CEO has awkwardly asked players to “stop sh*ting” their plants as the player count skyrockets.

Helldivers 2 CEO asks players to “stop sh*ting” their pants

Following the release of Helldivers 2 on Xbox, players noticed a huge surge in player count. On Reddit, the community noted a player count increase of 325,168 which then quickly rose to over 400,000. Now, on Discord, Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, has shared a screenshot showing that the player count totalled 500,490 at one point.

In showing the screenshot, Jorjani said, “this is gonna be a bit awkward…. but can I ask you to stop shi*ing your pants somehow?”. Jorjani and soiling breaches has become a bit of a joke or a meme that everyone is well aware of after the Arrowhead CEO went viral within the community for warning players will “sh*t your pants” over what’s coming back in May.

This is a fantastic player count increase for the game. For PC alone via Steam Charts, we can see that the player count rapidly rose from a peak of 56,485 on August 26th to a peak of 167,795 on August 27th at 2AM BST.

While Helldivers 2 is the first PlayStation-published game to land on Xbox consoles, a job listing from Sony suggests more PlayStation IPs could get into bed with Microsoft. There is the suggestion that it might be live-service games only seeing as Marathon from PlayStation-owned Bungie is already confirmed for an Xbox release at launch, but this is just speculation rather than anything official.
