Before Arrowhead come back from their vacation, the developers have given Helldivers 2 players a Major Order that teases a “new era of Gloom exploration”. This has resulted in players believing that new enemy variants might be discovered soon. While it’s feasible, a new Helldivers 2 enemy variant that has received a lot of attention online has been debunked as a major goof.
New Helldivers 2 enemy variant debunked as major goof
On the Helldivers subreddit, OP, Fube187, posted a screenshot showing they were killed by “Puker”. The OP titled their post, “Are spore burst bile titants called Pukers,” which had everyone believing the player stumbled across a new enemy variant.
The Reddit post received 3,000 upvotes, but, alas, it is a glitch rather than a new enemy variant. There are no Spore Burst Bile Titans in Helldivers 2, nor are they called Pukers.
While a lot of replies were confused and excited, only a couple users explained what actually happened. Instead of coming across a new enemy, the OP came across a bug that results in a player’s death being accidentally attributed to another player, in this instance a player called Puker.
Upon this explanation, the OP posted in the replies, “Ok so I feel like I have to clear this up – there is no ‘spore burst bile titan’. I just thought it was a new enemy because the death report showed ‘Puker’, which was a player in my game”.
Unfortunately, the OP’s explanation is heavily hidden in the replies as it only has just over 80 upvotes while the top comment believing Arrowhead may have accidentally leaked the new enemy variant has over 1,000 upvotes.
It’s possible we might get new enemy variants of Terminids seeing as the current Major Order promises a “new era of Gloom exploration,” but the enemy variant named Puker is actually just one of us many Super Earth Soldiers but with a name more befitting of the Garbage Pail Kids.
