There is a lot for the Helldivers 2 community to anticipate. While right now the developer is trying their best to fix performance woes and horrendous optimization on PC, the developer is also looking to add new content. It’s rumored that a flurry of new Illuminate Cultists could join the battlefield by the end of the year, and, after revealing plans for Automatons, a Helldivers 2 leak has uncovered a devastating Star Wars-esque weapon that is “capable of destroying planets” in a single blast.

Helldivers 2 leak uncovers Superweapon for destroying planets

Previously, we reported on leaks from Iron_S1ghts that revealed Arrowhead are actively developing Automaton Factory worlds. In said leak, Iron_S1ghts shared their estimations for new Cultists to join possibly by the end of the year, with Automaton Factory worlds coming sometime in 2026.

As part of the Factory worlds leak, Iron_S1ghts teased the bots are working on a “Superweapon,” for which the prominent leaker has now shared more details. According to Iron_S1ghts, the Superweapon being built by the Automatons is “planet-size,” and it is “built around a single annihilation cannon, likely capable of destroying planets”.

It’s also said that the “Superweapon will be visible on the galactic map,” as seen in screenshots you can check out on Iron_S1ghts’ post. Lastly, as for when it will be introduced, it’s believed the Superweapon will become a force for Super Earth soldiers to deal with next year, expected “a bit after the Factory worlds”.

Naturally, in the replies, a lot of people have compared it to the Death Star from Star Wars. This is because the Death Star was a planet-sized base for the Empire that blew up the planet of Alderaan with a single laser beam.

There’s no elaboration from Iron_S1ghts as to how we will combat this Superweapon, the only other detail they provided is that the weapon is “completely artificial” rather than another existing planet modified.
