It’s a fantastic time to be a fan of Helldivers 2. The game has just launched on Xbox consoles with a Halo Warbond, and this has resulted in the CEO telling players to “stop sh*ting” their pants due to the skyrocketing player count. As if the Halo crossover wasn’t enough, we’re also getting another Warbond to help us deal with the new Hive World. It’s also expected that we will get a patch soon, and interesting details have been revealed about the next Helldivers 2 update as we build up to its arrival.
Helldivers 2 next update details
There is no official date for the next Helldivers 2 update. Purely speculation, it could possibly land on September 2nd. This is because patches typically drop on a Tuesday, and this also the date that the next Warbond, Into the Unjust, comes out.
While we don’t know the precise date for the next patch, Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, has shared a fix. According to the CEO, the “glow bug is fixed already they tell me and is coming in the next fix”.
As for what the glow bug is, it’s a slight visual glitch that results in a glow of light around your Super Earth soldier. An example of the glitch has been shared on the official subreddit.
In addition to the glow fix, Jorjani said that the “next update includes performance stuff”. There are no specifics, but the CEO stressed that “fixing performance is more of a slow/long term thing”.
Finally, community manager, Baskinator, shared that Arrowhead are aware of an issue with the Halo Warbond. This issue affects the ODST MA5C Assault Rifle. Per the community manager’s message, Arrowhead is “currently investigating an issue regarding the new Halo Assault rifle which is causing crashes on all platforms”.
What happens is that, “When on the bridge, if all players equip this weapon from the armory and then the host leaves it will cause your game to crash”. There is the “Recommended workaround” of equipping the weapon from the loadout, but hopefully this is a bug that gets fixed in the next update.
