Official Helldivers 2 Halo Warbond release time countdown, new weapons, armor, price and important details

To accompany the release of Helldivers 2 on Xbox consoles, Arrowhead is launching a brand new Warbond that is a collaboration with Halo. This is the second official crossover for HD2, and Arrowhead have shared that they plan to “reprise” the Killzone crossover that came out at the end of 2024. While we don’t know when Killzone will return, we know exactly when Arrowhead’s crossover with Microsoft’s flagship IP will be added to the store. Helldivers 2 Halo Warbond release date

The release date for the Helldivers 2 Halo Warbond is August 26th. This is the exact same day as the Xbox launch, and it’s the same day Gears of War joins PS5 for the first time, too.

Players have wanted a crossover with Halo, but the odds of it happening appeared slim, and even less than slim before the Xbox release announcement. Arrowhead have said that players should “Send your thanks” to Sony for getting the game onto Xbox, and it’s also been confirmed that Sony help decide crossovers for HD2, which perhaps makes sense with Halo ports leaked for PS5.

When does the Helldivers 2 Halo Warbond come out?

The release time for when the Helldivers 2 Halo Warbond will come out is 5AM PT/8AM ET/1PM BST on August 26th. These launch hours are officially confirmed on the PlayStation Blog.

This crossover is launching slightly later than usual as typically Warbonds come out at 10AM BST. Fortunately, it’s not too long a wait, and it will come out mere hours after HD2 launches on Xbox Series X/S.

As if the Halo Warbond wasn’t enough, Arrowhead have teased that the next “awesome” Warbond could be arriving soon. This is because the Halo crossover is not a part of Arrowhead’s regular Warbond release schedule.

Below is all the new HD2 weapons, armor, and more included in the crossover as per the Microsoft blog:

• MA5C Assault Rifle 
  • An iconic rifle; the definition of reliable and having taken down countless aliens bent on wiping out humanity, it is time to turn its sights on enemies of Managed Democracy. It comes equipped with the convenient ammo counter and a built-in compass – let it guide you to victory.
• M7S SMG
  • Silent and deadly, with caseless ammo and a non-removable suppressor; this weapon is ready to spread Freedom to every corner of the galaxy.
• M90A Shotgun
  • This powerful shotgun carries a kick and has a handy flashlight mounted on it so you can see the fear in your enemies’ eyes before you teach them a valuable lesson about Liberty.
• M6C/SOCOM Pistol
  • They say keep your friends close and your sidearm closer. Well, we say that. The standard-issue ODST sidearm is your silent ally in the field – equipped with a built-in laser sight, flashlight, and, for the first time in Helldivers 2, a suppressor to support stealth gameplay. • A-9 Helljumper
  • Debuted during the New Mombasa Armor Show, this sleek ensemble is sure to turn heads and blow minds.
• A-35 Recon
  • Made famous by the Ministry of Intelligence’s hide-and-seek-and-destroy champion of ’52, this armor has been improved by removing excess shoulder protection.
• Feet First Armor Passive
  • Applied to both the above armor sets, this passive allows your Helldiver Helljumper to make less noise when moving, become immune to leg injuries, and increases the range of discovering points of interest by 30%.
• Honored Heirloom Cape 
  • Should the wearer of this cape perish at the hands of Freedom’s enemies, it is customary to pass the cape on to their bravest child during the funeral, inspiring the next generation to take up arms.
• Eye of the Clandestine Cape 
  • Those who serve Liberty from the shadows often elect to stay anonymous, moving like traceless spectres through the night. May they watch over us always.

  • The Warbond will also include ODST-themed player cards, a new player title, “Rookie”, and new vehicle pattern in a very familiar color known as Mean Green.

Price

It’s been confirmed that this crossover package with Microsoft’s flagship IP costs 1,500 Super Credits. This is 500 SC more than Premium Warbonds that cost 1,000 SC, but it’s 500 SC cheaper than the Killzone crossover that was criticised for costing 2,000 SC.

Arrowhead have explained why the crossover costs slightly more, and 1,500 SC will be the price of Legendary Warbonds moving forward, which presumably means Warbonds that are crossovers with IPs. Meanwhile, Premium Warbonds, meaning solely original content, will remain 1,000 SC.

Unfortunately, while Xbox players can pre-order the Super Citizen edition to get a free Premium Warbond Token, it will not be compatible with the Halo package.

Other important HD2 Halo Warbond details

In addition, Arrowhead have confirmed that the weapons included in the Halo Warbond are not customisable. No official explanation as to why has been provided, but it’s likely restrictions due to licensing.

There will also not be any superstore items to accompany the Warbond’s release. While these two caveats are disappointing, some good news is that Arrowhead have confirmed that the Halo Warbond is permanent. This means it is not limited-time and will not disappear from the store like the Killzone items, which was again a decision heavily criticitised by the HD2 community.
