Following the release of Helldivers 2 update 01.002.201, HD2 fans have discovered a couple bugs with one nerfing while the other buffs. While Arrowhead are yet to comment on the apparent bug for the Eruptor, the developer has confirmed that Helldivers 2 fans should enjoy the OP buff while it lasts as it is indeed a bug.

Helldivers 2 devs confirm OP buff is a bug

After the release of update 01.002.201, a lot of Helldivers 2 players discovered that the Quasar Cannon received a buff not mentioned in the patch notes. As noticed by the community and proved through gameplay, the “massive buff” involved the weapon automatically charging no matter what after first shot.

While very few Super Earh Soldiers were hopeful that the buff was intended, everyone pretty much knew that it was a bug. Now, Arrowhead has confirmed that is indeed the case, which means a fix should be on the way.

On the Arrowhead known issues webpage, the developer has added the following new bugs set to be fixed in a future update:

  • Anti-Aliasing leads to visuals looking blurry
  • Helldiver’s body might appear as a floating torso to other players
  • Quasar Cannon can ‘pre-charge’ when not equipped.
  • Some armor and capes have material errors causing their colors or decals to be altered or missing

We don’t know when the Quasar Cannon bug will be fixed, but it should be imminent, so we’d advise players to enjoy the buff while it lasts.

There are some pleading with Arrowhead not to fix the bug as it is undeniably a lot of fun, but the problem is that it’s way too OP. Plus, the Quasar Cannon was already more than fine before this bug arrived, so it should just go back to its previous state.
