Despite our best efforts, the Helldivers 2 community has failed the latest Major Order that tasked players with liberating five Automaton planets, although we did get extremely close. But, there is no time to dwell on the past as the next Major Order is now live, this time we are expected to fail and will benefit from our failure.

Following the failure of the most recent Major Order, Super Earth sent Helldivers 2 players the following message,

“The valiant sacrifice of millions of our most well-trained and brave heroes was not enough to pry free the collectivist death-grip on our stolen worlds.

The Automatons have now deployed Orbital Cannons across their entire domain—another metallic thorn in the side of Liberty. The pilot shortages have been replenished, and additional training will limit further impacts to extraction times. Even so, Helldiver missions to destroy these cannons will remain critical to the war effort in perpetuity.”

Helldivers 2 players have now been tasked with a new Major Order, with the developers trying to give the community the Anti-Tank Mines for the fourth time now. But, there is a catch, they will only be granted if we fail.

“High Command has ordered an Efficacy Review of the currently available Mine Stratagems.

To enable this review, the Helldivers are ordered to kill or dismantle the targeted number of Liberty’s enemies. If the targeted number is not reached, High Command will specially authorize the urgent addition of Anti-Tank Mines to the Helldivers’ repertoire.

If the targeted number of enemies are eliminated, then the currently available Mine Stratagems will be deemed sufficient, and no additions will be authorized at this time.”

This latest Major Order tasks players with eradicating 1.5 billion enemies from the galaxy, but the community is free to fight whichever faction they want. After multiple Major Orders focused on the Automatons, Terminid players will be happy to get back to their homelands, although the last time we were tasked with killing one billion Terminids we failed the Major Order. This seems like Super Earth expects us to fail so they can finally give us the Anti-Tank Mines after having first tried in April 2024.

Considering players were recently unable to eradicate 1 billion Terminids due to the lower concurrent player count, it does seem like 1.5 billion is out of the question. But, if one thing is for certain, the Helldivers 2 community really does not want the Anti-Tank Mines so I expect the community to put in many hours of Helldiving over the weekend to ensure they are not added to our inventory.
