Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios is celebrating the release of its long-awaited Escalation of Freedom update with a 24-hour livestream event centering on the massive patch. Predictably enough, the event will cover the update’s new content, including new enemy types, environments, and the latest Warbond. But that’s not the only thing you can get by watching.
According to AGS’s announcement, “any Steam players who tune in will receive 48 hours early access to the latest armor Super Earth has to offer, the ‘TR-40 Golden Eagle’ set.” If you can’t watch the event, there’s no need to fret; the general rollout for the armor set will start on August 8 at 10 am BST / 2 am PT “to all players across all platforms.” It’s currently unclear, though, how long you need to watch to gain access, so you may need to keep the stream running in the background while you drop into a mission.
The livestream event itself will take place two days before the public launch of the TR-40 Golden Eagle set, on August 6 at 10 am BST / 2 am PT. It’s also worth pointing out that since it’ll be running for 24 hours, the stream will contain pre-recorded footage, so there likely won’t be a community Q&A session at the end, like with most developer updates. That said, it should still provide plenty of clarity for those who want to learn more about the development of the Escalation of Freedom update and any future changes that the devs could bring into the game.
